Dalton came out to give us an estimate for clearing about an acre of very overgrown forest at the back of our property. He was very friendly and understood what we wanted—keep the hardwood trees, and mulch all of the invasive trees like buckthorn, honeysuckle, briars, and a few cedar trees. We accepted his quote, and he said he would let us know the next available time slot, which turned out to be less than a week later. We are more than pleased with the thorough and precise clearing he did. The bobcat and mulching attachment are about 7 ft wide which very efficiently chewed down trees and brush, leaving nothing but mulched wood behind. Dalton is very skilled with moving the mulching attachment up and down to avoid rocks and the trees we wanted to keep, but taking everything else down to soil level, no stumps left behind. It is a fascinating machine to watch. Clearing this land would have taken all summer for us to do manually with a chainsaw, where Dalton was finished neatly in about 10 hours. We will be able to maintain the areas easily with our mower. I think this just added to our property value as well—instead of an overgrown mess covering one third of our land, we now have cleared areas with mature and younger oaks, hickories, and walnuts, and beautiful shaded areas to sit and listen to birds and tree frogs. We can now plant deep rooted pasture grasses to hold the soil, as well as some white and red pines in the sunnier part. We couldn’t be happier. —Bright Dancing
